Nano carbon
takes us to the
next tech era

The Carbon Age follows the Silicon Age. The program accelerates the transformation with advanced carbon nanotubes, Canatu CNT, enabling enhanced performance with greater energy-efficiency.

Setting up the next leap in technology with nano carbon

Legacy materials like silicon are reaching their limits across industries and timeframes. This threatens to slow down technological progress that companies and consumers expect.

Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have taken a key role in the transition from the Silicon Age to the Carbon Age — a prime example being CNT membranes used in EUV pellicles in semiconductor industry. With CNT transistors on the horizon, a wave of new transformative applications leads us further into the next era.

The Carbon Age program has been launched to accelerate this transition.

Canatu has been selected as a Leading Company (Veturi) to drive the Carbon Age program

• 5-year program
• 40 targeted partners
• 10M€ for Canatu
• ≤20M€ for partners

Carbon Age roadmap

Carbon Age roadmap is a blueprint of how advanced carbon nanomaterials enable step changes in future electronics and further deepen digitalisation in our society and daily lives – from AI and IoT to quantum computing – taking us to the next tech era.

Program’s main goals

Develop novel CNT applications

Accelerate new business opportunities by developing scalable prototypes and processes.

Establish CNT pilot production capabilities

Create CNT material library and design and manufacturing rules for seamless integration into production processes.

Create a dynamic ecosystem

The ecosystem will bring together world-leading OEMs, technology suppliers, and research institutions.
